On Tuesday, May 10, we went to the Manitoba
Museum for a field trip. The first place where we went was the planetarium. Our
host’s name was Hilary. We saw a planetarium lightshow and learned different
things about light. After that we got to make a kaleidoscope. To make a
kaleidoscope you need to tape 3 mirrors together in a triangle and then you
need to put the mirrors in a toilet paper roll (that is the same length as the
mirrors) and tape them in (taping the sides). When you are done you can
decorate it if you want to! After we made a kaleidoscope we went and ate lunch.
After lunch we had a whole hour in the science
gallery. There are lots of very fun things to do. The mirror room was cool but
it could have been bigger. The pulley chairs were great but we wish they were
more like harnesses. We also liked the tornado made out of water, air. There was
also a talk and listen machine. You talk into it and whoever is at the other
side of the room can hear you. After the time in the science gallery we got on
the bus and came back to school.
