Field trip to Fort Gibraltar

Today, we had a great field trip to Fort Gibraltar. Our tour guides were amazing and we really felt like we were experiencing life as a Voyageur. The highlight was visiting the blacksmith shop and watching part of a chain be made before our eyes!

Best Monday ever!

We had an adorable start to the week this morning! Tara from 10 Acre Woods brought 6 week old Sheldon to BHS for our "Kiss a Goat" Assembly! Mrs. Palamar won by a landslide, but then she pledged $50 on the spot for the 2nd and 3rd place winners to also kiss the goat. Soooooo, Ms. Jeffery and I got to smooch Sheldon too! Soooooooo cute!

Thanks for your support in donating to this fundraiser! We raised $414, which allows us to purchase 8 goats for families in need through WE Schools.

Who will KISS A GOAT?!

The SPIN Club has introduced our newest campaign with WE Schools. We are participating in "We Create Change" and asking for students to purchase a ballot for $2 for the opportunity to vote on 20 staff members to kiss a goat. Every $50 raised purchases a goat for a family in need. When we ran this 3 years ago, we raised $360, and Mr. Hargreaves was the "winner"! Hahaha

An assembly will take place on Monday, May 28 to announce the winning staff member and how much money was raised. I can't wait!  :)

A rainy Friday!

We had indoor recess all day on Friday . . . but I don't mind! We really needed the rain, PLUS, hopefully this means that the weather for the long weekend will be great! We've had a busy week . . . just wrapping up social studies presentations on European explorers, and tackling science. I think learning about the human body is my favourite unit in science for Grade 5!

On Monday we our roof top photos there's not much to say all it is,is a photo from the roof of the school.

we also did our 30 x 30 challenge and we did BHS reads out there it was relaxing.

 

On Tuesday we did math games with clock partners mine were Ethan and Cayden it was fun. 

We also had poetry we did haiku poems they are hard!!!

On Wednesday we had music we did word search's because we had a sub,not subway a substitute!!!.

we also had gym we did four way soccer it was AWESOME

and we also had laptops thanks to Jordan I played Poptropica it was LIT

On Thursday we were learning about the skeletal system    it is soooooo cool how our body's work.    we also did ss preinitiations about European explorers I already did mine so I listened  to others.

 On Friday we had a class meeting we did as the wind blows and discussed problems.  And theeeeeeen were doing TWAS right now so I am almost done and now I'm done. 

Dog House Canteen update!

Thanks for your support in April! We donated $339.53 to the Children's Wish Foundation of Canada. 

We will be open again in June; maybe earlier . . . stay tuned!  :)

Word Work for 30x30!

A warm week!

This week we started the 30x30 One Nature Challenge. It was created by the David Suzuki Foundation and it encourages people to get outside for an additional 30 minutes for 30 days. In Room 31, we think the month of May is the perfect time for it! It's one of my favourite things to do all year! So far, the weather has cooperated! Yay!

Monday we did weekend wind up I got my phone on Friday and I was so happy  and I played with my friend and we played with my brothers friends to it was so much fun and on Saturday we played to and with her two sisters and it was fun and on Sunday we played and with her sisters that was my weekend. We did gym and we played capture the pin and it was fun I like it I lot.

Tuesday we had new attendance and it was kites and you had to tap it and let it fly. and we got new name tags and are names are flowers and I like mine.

Wednesday we did the 30x30  nature challenge we did BHS reads outside it was so much fun I love it.we had I fire drill and it was good and ok.

Thursday I was not at school the whole day and I went to myrca  and it was so much fun I love it so much and I want to go back.

Friday we got to see Ethan's gecko: Marley it was so cute and did not want to let go of me at all. and we are doing TWAS for you right now.
