Partner Design Project

Over the last week or so, we worked on a Partner Design Project in the classroom. The task was to create a device that used gravity to get Billy Bob the Bear down from a tree. Some of the Grade 4s had prior experience with this, which was fine! The main objective was for the students to use the Design Process and to work well with one another. This activity was more challenging than the students were expecting! I really wanted to stress that it's the journey, not just the "end product" . . . and that it's perfectly okay to change your design; as long as you state it in the logbook. I truly value cooperation and enjoyed watching the students work together. This was great practice for their upcoming, independent, design project in science!
