Beach Day in Room 31

We've had a fun week at school. On Monday, we watched the gymnasts perform their routines before heading to the divisional tumbling rally on Tuesday. We also started the algorithm strategy for multiplication and so far, students are finding it easy and straight forward. Yay! Yesterday, we filled up our "O Chart", so we voted on how to celebrate. We decided on a Beach Day, movie AND dance party! It was so much fun!

today we are having a Beach day! we are going to watch a movie, have a dance party, and  eat snacks.

Goodbye Term 2, Hello Term 3!

It was a great week in Room 31. I think we can all agree that it was a tad difficult adjusting to the time change! *YAWN* We worked hard on preparing our portfolios for student-led conferences that took place Thursday evening and Friday morning. Thanks for celebrating Term 2 with us!

 Monday

we had gym but I for got what we did. We used comic life and my didn't work for some reason.

Tuesday

we had book buddies and we read LOTS of books. We did art inspired by James rizzi! We did the art of the birds!

Wednesday

We had BHS reads! I'm reading warriors fire and ice! it's awesome! We had free time on the laptop Thanks Rylan!

Thursday

We worked on are portfolios and I like mine! Also we did TWAS :3

Friday

Theres is no school Friday I don't know what to do!

Funky Spring Birds

This week we did art. We painted birds like James rizzi. First we had to draw a rough copy then a good copy. We traced with oil pastel and painted the bird first. Then we painted the background then we let it dry. It was pretty easy. my favorite part of my art is the bird. I rate this art 4 and a half out of five stars.

SPIN Club update!

Thank you so much for supporting the recent SPIN Club fundraiser with Colibri, a Manitoba based company. The proceeds of $520.50 have been sent to “We Schools” in support of education initiatives in Nicaragua.

It's been great seeing some Room 31 students already using the bags in their lunch kits!

Marble Runs!

A SNOW DAY to start the week!

We had an exciting start to the week! It was a SNOW DAY and the buses were cancelled, but school was still on. We had a total of 11 students. I was away at an inservice, but I heard the day was full of fun! We wrapped up our marble runs this week! It was a blast trying out everyone's creations and so many awesome compliments were left for one another. We also celebrated "International Women's Day" on March 8. The students wrote amazing messages about a woman they admire . . . there are some lucky moms out there!  :)

On Monday it was a... snow day 

I made a huge fort with my cousin and  she stayed for supper.

tuesday

On Tuesday we had music. In music we started  a new song on recorder called this little light of mine . we also had BHS reads. I finished the book a boy named queen. 

Wednesday 

On Wednesday we had gym. we played gate keeper. its super fun.

we also watch a video that jaylinn made a video with her friends it was funny. 

Thursday 

On Thursday  Chantal showed use her sewing. she made a bag and a pillow.

we also had library. I got a book called 10 miles past normal. 

 Friday

on Friday we did twas and you just finished reading it.

Designing + Building = FUN

We have spent lots of time working on our science design projects this week! The students are working independently to design and make marble runs to meet specific criteria. It has been so awesome to see how encouraging they are to one another. No design is the same! I LOVE IT! We also started multiplication this week, which has been a bit of a refresher for lots of us!

Wednesday gym we did pick a ball like tennis but its not we need the nets low to touch the ground. library I picked good books the names are 1. amulet 2. mean machines I like the mean machines book it tells me about lots of cars.

Thursday new spots I sit by myself it easier to work yay!!!!! science design I ended my work its easy for some people for me nice and easy. name tags its march leprechaun month (get some gold everyone) the name tags are clovers.

Friday science design I helped hunter with working on the marble run.

Dog House Canteen Update

We had a very busy February at the Dog House Canteen! Thanks to your support, we are donating $410.79 to Wildlife Haven Rehabilitation Centre. Check out the work they do for orphaned and injured animals in Manitoba by clicking HERE.

I first heard about the organization when I went out to Oak Hammock Marsh to see a snowy owl released earlier in February, after being in care since November.

The Dog House Canteen will be closed for March. We will see you after Spring Break, with a new staff!
