This week, we are wrapping up two important campaigns at the school. The S.P.I.N. Club has been running the We Scare Hunger campaign to collect non-perishable food items. Today at lunch, students visited classrooms to collect all of the food that has been brought in by the students. The total weight of all the food collected is 477 pounds (216 kilograms)! That is AMAZING! Representatives from Winnipeg Harvest will be coming to BHS tomorrow to pick up all the donations!
The other campaign that ended today is UNICEF. I am so proud to run this with my students each year. BHS raised $2 406.36! Just imagine what that money can do for kids all over the world! The students of Room 31 will be sorting, counting, and rolling coins in the next day or so. Keep your eyes out for a video of our hard work! And be sure to check out the impressive graph across from the library!
Thank you for supporting these fundraisers!
I totally agree with the words of former NBA star Magic Johnson. He recently said at WE Day Saskatchewan; "The greatest person I know is someone who always helps somebody else".
It warms my heart to see young people helping others! Way to go!
