It sure was a busy week, considering it was only 4 days long! We are in the midst of finishing up projects for both science and social studies, so it's a whirlwind of activity in Room 31 . . . paint, clay, and imagination are flying everywhere! It was a Spirit Week for United Way - so fun to see lots of students and staff dress up!
Monday was a day off for students as teachers worked on report cards.
On Tuesday, we celebrated World Kindness Day by writing notes to random classmates. Some students wrote to family members too. It was a simple way to make someone's day and didn't cost a thing! The Grade 5s tested their science design projects. The rain gauges stood up (in the snow!) and collected water!
On Wednesday, the students were surprised with a quiz in Science. They also did an online survey about how they feel about things at school with Ms. Lovetri.
On Thursday, we visited with our Grade 2/3 Book Buddies and wrote notes to adults in the school to carry on the theme of World Kindness Day.
Today, six students from Room 31 participated in the Grade 4/5 volleyball tournament at Maple Leaf School. A shout-out to Jake and Levi . . . Jake always seems to dress up on the last day of the week - usually wearing a dress shirt and tie! Now, Levi has joined in! So adorable!
It was also our first hot lunch of the year. Thanks to PAC for bringing this back! SO nice to not have to make lunch! :)
