Last week of 2016!

We've had an awesome last week of school for 2016! On Monday, it was my fave assembly of the year. I love when the school gets together to sing Christmas carols! We had some very brave students play the piano for it!

We were really busy with Secret Santa . . . it was sooooooo much fun in Room 31! The students totally got into the spirit of giving with really thoughtful gifts and clues! We also worked on beautiful cards for our families and painted wood ornaments!

We baked cookies with our Grade 2 Book Buddies on Tuesday, and then decorated and ate them on Wednesday. Thanks to Mrs. Lepp and Mrs. Sullivan for helping out!

Today, we had a "Photo Booth" in our room . . . not a real one, but still loads of fun! Thanks to my sister and her adorable props (4squarefoto)!

Hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and enjoy the holidays! I'm looking forward to hearing all about your adventures!

A Snowy Week!

It was an unusual week . . . with the buses running 3/5 days because of the blustery weather! We are in full preparation for the Christmas Concert!

Here's is Jace's TWAS . . .

On Monday we had BHS reads and I am reading Dork Diary and I am almost done but I am still reading. We also had Gym with Grade 5 and we did sit ups, plank, and running to lines. We also had choir and we practiced Carol of the Bells and we did pretty good that time. I can't wait till the Christmas Concert.

On Tuesday we watched the movie Elf because we had a small class and it was a calm day. We also had a writing prompt - Imagine your life in a snow globe. I would tell you but it's too long of a story. Sorry. Hey that rhymes. Ha Ha!

On Wednesday and we had gym and we did cross country skiing and it was really fun because we got the fall and then try to get back up. It was hard but fun. We also did multiplication bingo. I won once and Kate won three times! She's so good!

On Thursday we had choir practice and it was fun because I love singing and Christmas. We also had Art step 1 of our reindeer art and I am done today and it looks so cute. We also had music and we worked on Carol of the Bells and we are going to wow the parents at the Christmas Concert!

Today we had a concert run-through and I did my mail person part and I love it because I get to go on stage and I get to talk and say stuff like a mail person. We also had the dog house canteen frozen yogurt and I got pineapple sorbet and it's so good. Thanks to Ms. Wasney and all the canteen girls for letting the school have such a treat!

Snowflakes by the SPIN Club!

We've had some awesome groups of SPIN Club members come before and after school to make beaded snowflakes this week. A BIG thank you to Mrs. Small for the fantastic idea . . . and training Mrs. Tresoor and I on Monday night! We will be selling the snowflakes outside the library during the afternoon and evening Christmas concerts on Tuesday and Wednesday next week. They are $3 each, or 2 for $5. All proceeds are going towards our global initiative with "Free the Children" - building a school in Nicaragua.

The snowflakes look lovely on a tree, in a window, or added on a gift!

Thanks for your support!

Winter is HERE!

Wow! Winter has arrived! It's only Wednesday, and the buses have been cancelled for 2 days already this week!

Just a reminder to be sure to dress for the blustery weather . . . especially since we will be going outside for phys ed classes for cross-country skiing!

Thank you!

Thanks to all the families for celebrating Term 1 with us over the last few days! It's always a fun time for the students to share all their learning with parents!
