Criteria for a Pourquoi Tale

On Monday we had to re-tell a pourquoi tale. That is where we re-tell the story Mr Kapilik told us. He told us a story about a beaver and that they always used to have a thick fluffy tail but a tree landed on his tail and now all beavers have a flat tail. He put way more detail into it. Then we had to retell the story as a class. We did not finish the story that day. We still have a lot more to write about. Then we had Gym. In gym Mrs Rand taught us gymnastics. We practiced the rolls like the log roll and the egg roll and the forward roll and lots of other rolls it was fun.

On Tuesday we had music. In music we played instruments. The bars we took out where E E B Mrs Knoll said it stands for bacon and eggs. The instrument playing was really fun! Then we had social studies. In social studies we watched a renaissance video about how they traveled back then and about spices and about the resources they had and we also had to record facts and answer questions.

On Wednesday we had Gym. In Gym we did gymnastics this time we learned are teddy bear stands and hand stands it was hard for me and Gavin to do a teddy bear stand. Then we had math in math we did a thing where you get a sheet of paper and you have to cut some graphing stuff out of it. Then you have to glue it on to a different sheet and put into the correct order.

On Thursday we had Read to self I started a new book called Holes it is really interesting and I like it a lot. It is about a kid that did not even do anything and is sent to a camp to dig holes and only really bad people go there. Then we had Social Studies thing where you could work with a partner you had to answer questions about the French and the aboriginal. In Math we had to survey the kids in our class and then graph the results. My question was "What is your favourite dessert"?

Writing our Pourquoi Tales

On Friday we will have gym with Mrs Tresoor’s class I hope we play dodge ball it will be really fun. Then we will have boys choir in boys choir we will sing with the grade threes fours and fives. The songs we sing are the drunken sailor and the prairie. This morning, we started writing our own Pourquoi Tale. Mine is about how the eagle has a long wing span.
