Once again, Bird’s
Hill School is participating in the Red Cross Day of Pink on April 8th,
2015.It all started in 2007 when 2 high school students in Nova Scotia took a stand against bullying in their school. The students asked all of their peers to wear pink to school after they heard a male classmate had been bullied for wearing a pink shirt.
The Day of Pink campaign brings together schools and communities throughout Canada to wear the shirt and stand together against bullying. You can learn more about the Red Cross Day of Pink HERE.
Students
and staff are invited to wear pink shirts in solidarity to show that bullying
is unacceptable and to stand for respect.
All students are bringing home order forms today. The t-shirts are only $5 and forms are to be returned to school by January 27th.
